Ok here is as detailed a response as I have time for:
What is the best stick:
There genuinely isn't an answer to this, its all personal preference. But the rule of thumb for heads usually is
If you want to face you need a stiff head or be prepared to replace it often
If you play D a Stiff wide head makes poke checks more accurate, interceptions better and groundballs easier
If you play Attack or Midfield a narrower head makes it harder for the D to get the ball
and for shafts
If you can afford it get Titanium
If you play D you really do need a longpole
Also if you are a transitional player that doesn't get checked too often get the lightest shaft you can BUT remember lighter = weaker always!
Wooden = more impact on check, but is heavy (pretty cool though!)
As for teh kit in teh offer -
I would say Helmet wise the Riddell (£98 ) is one of the best on the market at the minute for concussion protection BUT it is very heavy and looks ugly. Cascade is generally considered the best all round helmet with the CPX Ti (£175) being top of the line (they are bringing a new helmet out in November, no idea if its better or not) but the CLH2 (£75) is an entry model probably equal to the Uni helmets.
The Gloves you get in the kit won't be as good as the uni ones I think, Arm pads and stick will be the same BUT to put it in perspective if you want to get even the basic level stuff out of this offer its about £25 stick, £20 arm pads, £35 Gloves, min £75 helmet = min £155
however once again, I would say to people that if there is anything specifically that you would want to get a better model off, just ask - and as for sticks ask if you can try other peoples out!
